Specialist Unit (Resourced Provision)

Proposal for a Specialist Unit for pupils with communication and interaction needs at Lift Kingsley

Dear Community,

I am writing to share some exciting news regarding our plans to further enhance the support we provide to our students and the wider Hounslow community.

At Lift Kingsley, we believe in providing an excellent education for every child, every day. As part of this commitment, we are proposing to establish a new Specialist Unit (Resourced Provision) for pupils with communication and interaction needs, planned to open in phases from September 2026. This unit will provide tailored support for up to 30 students who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). These students will be part of our mainstream school community, attending lessons where appropriate while benefiting from specialist resources and a dedicated "base" within the school.

Why are we doing this?

There is a growing need for specialist secondary school places in our borough. By hosting this provision, we not only help meet that demand but also strengthen the expertise and resources available to all students at Lift Kingsley.

How can you get involved?

Your views are incredibly important to us. We are now entering a formal consultation period, which runs from Friday, 23rd January to Friday, 13th February 2026.

In the below links, you will find:

* The Formal Consultation Letter: Detailing the proposal and how to submit your feedback.

* A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Document: To provide more clarity on how this will work in practice.

Thank you for your continued support of Lift Kingsley and our mission to be a kind, curious, and courageous community.

Yours sincerely,

Bob Tinsley
Principal
